Meet Dr. Wynne

Hi, I'm Bill Wynne D.D.S. Thanks for taking the time to visit my website. If you have a moment or two, I'd like to tell you a bit about myself and my practice.

I was born in Raleigh, N.C. and graduated from NC State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology in 1967. I then moved to Chapel Hill to study dentistry at the University of North Carolina.

In 1971, I set up my practice in Raleigh, NC. I have spend the past 41 years focusing on cosmetic and complex functional rehabilitation cases.

I have studied with the masters of Aesthetic Dentistry and also have completed all of the courses at the prestigious L.D. Pankey Institute. In addition to being an Associate Faculty Member, I have attained status as a Pankey Scholar.

Dr. Bill Wynne is a well respected and well known dentist at his state of the art practice. In Raleigh, N.C. he delivers exceptional general dentistry, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, implants, and TMJ therapy.

Dr. Wynne graduated from UNC Dental School in 1971. Since graduating, he has formed nine dental organizations and held offices in seven. Most of these were dealing with delivering painless dentistry.

In recent years he has been involved in teaching aesthetic and functional dentistry. He began at the ultimate aesthetic practice with Dr. Larry Rosenthal, Dr. Bill Dickerson, and Dr. Ross Nash. During his seven years of mentoring at the Nash Institute, he worked with other giants in Aesthetic Dentistry including Dr. Jeff Goleb Evans and Dr. John Cranham. Dr. Jon Cranham is now clinical director for the Dawson Center. He and Dr. Wynne ran the Occlusion Course for the Nash Institue for several years.

Dr. Wynne is also an Associate Faculty member of the L. D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL. and has been awarded the status of Pankey Scholar. In October 2012, Dr. Wynne attained the status of diplomate in the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry.

Are you unhappy with your smile? Do you have gaps, twisted teeth, and stains make that you less able to smile? With cosmetic dental techniques you can get that smile you have always wanted. I have worked with most of the leaders and innovators in the aesthetic dental field. I have developed a conservative way to make huge differences in my patients smiles.

In recent years there has been a shift away from the "American Standard Unnatural White" look. People are desiring a more natural look. As a cosmetic dentist I have relied on the more conservative techniques to accommodate my patients desired results. With my knowledge of proper occlusion, I can create aesthetic changes that will last and be comfortable.



Often simple techniques can be utilized to achieve desired results. Simple reshaping existing teeth and whitening can make a huge difference and be extremely cost effective.

In certain situations, more involved techniques are necessary. I work with a number of specialist whom I consider artists. Being able to reposition gingival tissue with exact precision is difficult. My periodontist does this on a routine basis. My orthodontist is knowledgeable about placing teeth in centric relation position that optimizes function. I have developed diagnostic skills that if necessary, utilize these talented specialist to accomplish our goals.
